With Wallace Mahoney's murder unsolved and Frank's whereabouts unknown, the "Keating 5" struggle to move on with their lives as they enter into their second year of law school. Meanwhile, Annalise's reputation at Middleton University is on the line, so she creates a criminal law clinic where the students will compete to try their own pro bono cases. Annalise also wrestles with a decision involving Frank that could change everything.
Flashback: During the summer break, the ‘Keating Five’ cope with what they have all gone through. Immediately after his father's murder, Wes is picked up by Annalise, who tells him that Frank set them up; In May, Laurel gets into an argument with Annalise which results in the both of them agreeing to cut Frank out of their lives; In June, Asher asks Annalise for a loan after going broke; In July, Connor asks Annalise not to hire Oliver for a job at the firm; In August, a depressed (and drunk) Michaela is saved from getting a DUI by Annalise.
Flash Forward: Two months later - Annalise pushes through a crowd. She notices a body being carried away, and she pushes through people and officers stop her. She convinces them saying that it was her house, and she needed to know who it was. It is revealed that there is a person in a body bag, on the gurney, and Annalise demands to know who it is. Annalise sees the person and begins to scream and cry. The last visual is Annalise's house on fire.
